Design Elements

As you think about your site, think of it in sections. The horizontal sections are header, body, and footer. The vertical sections are columns and/or boxes. Site navigation is a separate element and can be laid out horizontally or vertically.

Your contact information should be available on every page. Make it easy for people to contact you, after all that is the purpose of the site.

Graphics should be used sparingly because they drastically slow down the loading speed of the page. People will not usually wait more than eight seconds for a page to load. The measure is the slowest computer and the slowest Internet connection because many people have no kept up with cutting edge of technology. Most graphics can be optimized for better loading time without sacrificing quality.
